There are some civil liberties mailing lists set up by members of NCCL/Liberty for discussion of general civil liberties issues. (NCCL/Liberty is not formally responsible for them, nor will it guarantee to answer questions posed on them -- but a number of activists and EC members probably will be present informally).

The ANNOUNCE list is LISTEN-ONLY, it is called civlibs-a@netlists.liberty.org.uk , and it will be limited to a coouple orf pages of urgent, relevant announcements every few days. To join send a message to civlibs-a-request@netlists.liberty.org.uk , any subject line, the first line of the message should be the word:

subscribe

The DISCUSS list is FREE AND UNMODERATED, it is called civlibs-d@netlists.liberty.org.uk . To join send a message to civlibs-d-request@netlists.liberty.org.uk , any subject line, the first line of the message should be the word:

subscribe

To leave, send a similar message with the word "unsubscribe".

NCCL/Liberty is the UK organisation which deal with internal UK civil rights issues: founded in 1934,
its aims are to defend a list of basic rights similar to that in the European Convention on Human Rights.
